Privacy policy
Let’s Pray (“we”, “us”) is a prayer tracker app and this website. This policy says what we collect, why, who can see it, and how you can delete it. We wrote it in plain words on purpose. We do not show ads, we do not sell your data, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
What we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google: a unique account identifier, your email address (Apple may give us a private relay address) and your name if you choose to share it. | To sign you in and keep your data with you across phones. |
| Prayer data. Which prayers you logged (prayed or made up), when, and how late; your streak, points and make-up plan. | The core of the app: your history, streak, points, the leaderboard and groups. It is stored on your phone, and copied to our server while you are signed in. |
| Profile. Your display name, a built-in avatar, an optional country, and whether you appear on the leaderboard. A photo you choose stays on your phone. | To show you to friends and, if you choose, on the leaderboard. |
| Groups. The groups you create or join, who is in them, and nudges sent. | So friends can see who has prayed today and send a gentle nudge. |
| Notifications. A push token for your phone and your app language. | To deliver nudges and “your friend prayed” notifications in your language. You can turn friend notifications off in the app. |
| Purchases. Apple or Google handles the payment. Our subscription provider, RevenueCat, receives your account ID and purchase status. | To know whether your subscription or free trial is active. |
| Screens you reach. The names of app screens you reach (for example Welcome, Paywall, Home), with a random number made on your phone. Once you sign in, they are linked to your account. No advertising ID, and never your prayers or your name. | To see where people get stuck and fix it. You can switch it off in Settings, Advanced, Share which screens I reach. |
| Contact form. The name, email and message you send us. | To reply to you. |
| Technical. Your IP address and basic request details when your phone or browser reaches our server. | Security, preventing abuse and rate limiting. Kept only briefly. |
What stays on your phone
- Your location. Used on your phone to work out prayer times and the Qibla. It is not sent to our servers.
- Prayer Focus. It uses Apple’s Screen Time. The apps you pick to lock are chosen and stored on your device. We cannot see which apps you chose or how you use them.
- Photos. A profile photo you pick is kept in the app’s folder on your phone.
Who can see what
- Friends in your groups see your name, avatar, country, your streak and points, and which of today’s prayers you prayed and how on time. They can nudge you.
- Everyone on the leaderboard sees your name, avatar, country and points only if you choose to appear there. You can change this any time in the app.
- People you have blocked do not see you, and you do not see them.
- Nobody else sees your prayers.
Who we share data with
Only the service providers that make the app work: Apple and Google (sign-in, billing, notification delivery), Expo (delivering push notifications), RevenueCat (subscription status) and our hosting provider (running our server). They may only use the data to provide their service to us. We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete it yourself: in the app, open Settings, Advanced, Delete account. This removes your account, prayers, profile, groups membership, push tokens and screen history from our servers, and the data on your phone. Copies in our backups are removed as the backups expire. Contact-form messages are kept until we have dealt with them; ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California) you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to some uses, and withdraw consent. Most of this you can do inside the app. For anything else, email us and we will answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Let’s Pray is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to our server are encrypted, sign-in tokens are short-lived, and sensitive tokens are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and fix problems quickly.
Where data is processed
Our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so in the app or on this page and update the date above.
